Justin Capes

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY:

Justin Capes graduated from his degree in Computer Games Design in 2004 with both a 1st Hons and the animated project 'Horror Of The Kingdom' which appeared at Middlesbrough's 'Animex' Animation festival (and has since been used in 'Black Dog' a short film directed by Ian Fenton).

Justin was then funded to create 'Rustic Dreams', a short animation based on a larger project in a production team named 'Rusted Films'. The short was completed in 2005 and screened successfully at various events and festivals.
Since then Justin has been producing short live action films in his spare time. ‘Art is Alive’ a six minute experimental zombie horror was completed in Halloween 2006, honing his unique direction, narrative and editing styles. ‘Celebrate Cake’  a silent comedy was completed soon after in January 2007 for the Orange BAFTA 1 minute film competition and was selected for the top five in the region as well as being aired on BBC local news.

‘Supposed to Be’ was a project on the directors mind since 2005. Justin reshaped the project and spent a year shooting and editing the film in his spare time, the film was completed in Jan 2008 and being screened at various festivals this year to positive reviews and has already won an Experimental Film Award. Justin Capes continues his ambition to develop as an independent film maker.
